(NaturalNews) Within the past several months, numerous towns in Maine, and one in Vermont, have proposed or enacted food sovereignty laws that declare, plainly, that the federal government has no business telling citizens what food products they can and cannot buy or sell locally. Representing the third town to successfully pass such an ordinance, Blue Hill, Maine, recently adopted a local food and self-governance bill that asserts the freedom of local citizens to choose their own food.

In a near-unanimous vote, Blue Hill residents successfully voted to pass the food freedom ordinance on April 2. Besides declaring sovereignty from government intrusion on local food policy, the bill exempts all direct sales of food from having to comply with state and federal license and inspection requirement. In other words, local residents who grow and sell produce, for instance, will not be subjected to the tedious and expensive bureaucratic red tape that rightfully applies to factory farm operations.

"[It] is a huge milestone in the struggle to protect the rights, not only of farmers to sell their products, but also of all citizens to eat the food of their choice," John Gandy, a local resident of Blue Hill and Master for the Halcyon Grange, is quoted as saying in the Activist Post. "It is time citizens start defending our rights against big government and big business."

In early March, two other towns in Maine, Sedgwick and Penobscot, both passed their own food sovereignty laws. And the town of Barre, Vt., will vote on its own food freedom resolution sometime in May
 

The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society recently issued a position statement that “opposes any legislation or regulation that would allow children to be exempted from mandatory immunizations based simply on their parents’, or in the case of adolescents, their own, secular personal beliefs.”

We had 40 CPM to 80 CPM with a pretty standard 60 CPM average; HOWEVER WE ALSO HAD SOME MORENUCLEAR WINTER TO GO WITH IT.

The usual amount of snow up here is 45 to 48 inches. This year we had 49.5 inches pre-fukushima, and spring was about mostly sprung. Then Fukushima early took us to 52.5 inches of snow. Now late Fukishima gave us another 4 inches of snow last night.

We nearly have 10% of an annual snow fall at the THIRD WEEK of APRIL; so we are now up to 56.5 inches of snow and counting. We are now 8.7 inches over our median average for snow during spring.

Some will challenge me and say, "well you live in the mountains and winter is what it is." I have been keeping records for weather up here for 14 years, and have researched past records and this year is truly abnormal.

In 1996 we had a 50 year record of snow and it did not melt off until very late May, but it did stop falling altogether about Passover. That was not a leap year Passover in 1996 but 2011, this year, is. So Passover in 2011 came the night of April 17 and the day of April 18th. WE may have a smattering of snow from time to time until as late as July 4th; however to receive nearly 10% of a season this late? never.
