We are in the beginning stages of forming some of the committees, we so desperately need. The turn-out at the meetings has been great and we thank everyone for their support. It is now time to step up our game plan.

Currently, there are only handful of people sharing the work load. If we are going to continue to grow, we need people to stand up and participate as a community. There are many projects that need more support (than this handful of people have time for). Below is a short list of the committees we are now forming.

We understand that people get busy with schedules; families, health, work and other personal responsibilities. In light of this, each committee will have redundancies (more than one person), so no single person carries the full responsibility.

  1. Media Committee: Monitor local newspapers: Colville, Chewelah and Sun Crest newspapers for items of interest to Stevens County Assembly. Two people per newspaper. Report items of interest at monthly Assembly meeting.

  2. Stevens County Commissioners Meetings: We would like to start with five people to share the work load here. Report items of interest at monthly Assembly meeting.

  3. Town Council Meetings: Two people for each town. Report items of interest at monthly Assembly meeting.

  4. Food Freedom Committee: At least three people in this group. Monitor national progress of Food Freedom Act, gather and distribute information to and from local farmers. Members must be farmers themselves. Report items of interest at monthly Assembly meeting.

  5. Agenda 21 Committee: Three members for this group. Monitor Agenda 21 and how it relates to Stevens County. Report items of interest at monthly Assembly meeting.

Other committees are being discussed. If you have suggestions, please voice them.

If you have expertise in anything that could help
the Assembly, please let us know.

Yesterday, we had time to sit around and debate. Today, we ALL need to participate. Tomorrow, your gripes will be hopeless words in the wind.

Remember, your Silence is your Consent.
